Every year, moving around the world is becoming easier, the boundaries are erased. Daphne and Harry, our today's heroes, flew on a honeymoon to Rome in March 2012 from faraway Hong Kong. Italy is one of the most beautiful countries in the world and more and more lovers choose it for their honeymoon or necessarily include travel to Europe in their itinerary. As a photographer who often shoots weddings in Italy and other countries, I have to not only take pictures, but also help the young advice in planning my vacation abroad.
Planning
Since it was planned to conduct our photo shoot with Daphne and Harry in two stages - at night and at dawn, the choice of the best hotel in Rome turned out to be an important moment. On the one hand, it was supposed to be located in a convenient place, on the other hand, arrange lovers for the price, and, of course, in the third match the reason for the trip - a honeymoon to Rome. Lovers opted for a chic five-star hotel Hotel Raphael - Relais & Châteaux located just a few minutes walk from Rome's most romantic Piazza Navona and other Roman attractions. It is worth mentioning this place, since it is not the first lovers who speak very well of it, and it is not always possible to find good service in Italy hotels.
Night Rome
So, we decided to spend the first night part of our photo shoot after sunset. Any city at night appears in a completely different guise, and the Italian capital certainly has its own charm and unique charm. And of course the very first attraction that we decided to capture was the Colosseum.
I am sure not one of the millions of tourists visiting Rome annually does not ignore this unique monument of the ancient world. Then we went to the Rotunda Square, the more famous Pantheon located on it and a fountain of the same name.
Particularly sharply contrasted are people in modern clothes with millennial works of architecture that look even more impressive at night. Let me give you advice not to chase a visit to all the Roman sights, although you still can’t do without visiting some of the most interesting, but just enjoy the spirit of the city, because Rome is a beautiful city in itself at any time of the day. So we with lovers just decided to walk along the Italian streets and enjoy the atmosphere of the eternal city.
Vatican City at night
So slowly walking along the Tiber River, we did not notice how we were close by on St. Peter's Square with the Vatican. The colonnade and St. Peter's Cathedral itself are impressive. In general, the weather in Rome in the spring is already quite pleasant, but still it is worth recognizing that this time of year is not the most popular for visiting Italy.
Although on the contrary, I recommend coming to rest in Italy in late autumn or early spring - you are guaranteed a comfortable plus twenty and relatively free from the same tourists as you streets. Of course during the day, for example, in the Vatican there are always huge flows of pilgrims and visitors to this city-state in the state. But in the evening and at night, as you see in the photo, it’s quite comfortable here and while dad is sleeping, you can arrange a beautiful photo shoot.
In this unusual place, our walk through the night of Rome ended safely and catching a taxi right on the square, we went to our hotels. In the morning, new experiences awaited us.
Rome at Dawn
Having a little rest, we met again with Daphne and Harry at the dawn of one of the most popular Roman sights - the Trevi Fountain. In the photo report on the honeymoon to Rome by Valentina and Oleg, I talked about the fact that the only time of day when this super popular place can be found relatively deserted is early morning.
On this March day, near the fountain, we met only a lonely Bangladeshi, three policemen, who, however, were on guard at this national property all the time and ... three drunken Scots. Sincerely congratulating Harry on such a crucial step in life and singing the Scottish anthem, the guys performed another ritual - they threw a coin into the fountain.
Having made a few photos as a keepsake, we rushed to another unusual place that I also wanted to find relatively uninhabited. Even in the morning on the Spanish Steps you can easily meet a dozen other tourists, and during the day thousands of people bask in it and rest.
I have nothing against strangers in photographs, but I adhere to two positions: a) there should not be anything superfluous related to other topics and strangers, or b) if strangers are present, then there should be a lot of them. More than once I saw the Spanish Steps at dawn and I can say that the chances of finding it deserted are about 50/50. Good luck this morning was on our side and we were able to take truly unusual and unique photographs. Rome was only for us. Climbing the stairs up to us a beautiful panorama of Rome overlooking the Cathedral of St. Peter.
Villa Borghese
You can talk about this magical English park in the center of Rome for hours and write more than a dozen articles about it.
I sincerely recommend that all lovers necessarily spend at least a few hours at Villa Borghese or arrange a romantic dinner, breakfast and so on on one of the many lawns or benches.
The park is decorated with hundreds of sculptures, beautiful trees and plants. Even on a weekend in the summer at the peak of the tourist season, it is quite comfortable here and everyone will find enough space for themselves to relax in the shade of Italian pine trees - pines.
Frankly, I admire these trees and have never met them in such numbers. For me, this is one of the characteristic symbols of Rome.
