Pfunda Dairy Store

Pfunda Dairy Store is a striking landmark in Dresden. It is even listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the most beautiful dairy store in the world.

How it all started

The history of the origin of the Pfunds Molkerei Dresden in Dresden began in 1879. One local peasant suggested producing fresh and hygienically pure milk. He opened an amazing dairy store in which everyone could see the process of milk production. There were six cows in the store's premises, which were regularly milked by employees of the shopping pavilion. And then fresh milk was prepared for further sale.

From the very beginning, the profit from milk sales was not very large. But over time, when more people learned about the store, revenues increased 4 times. The store began to be called the Pfund Brothers Dresden Dairy, and the family milk business began to be handed down from generation to generation.

Later, in the trade pavilion, in addition to milk, milk soap, baby food and condensed milk were also sold. Pfund was its first producer in Germany.

The most beautiful dairy store in the world

The store that we see today was built in 1891. It is tiled in neo-Renaissance style. The store survived the bombing of Dresden. In 1972, it became the property of the state, but in 1978 it was closed. In the 90s of the last century, the tradition was renewed. Today, dairy products are sold here and cheese tastings are held.

Of all the guides I have ever met, Katya, the guide to Venice, made the most powerful first impression. Having written to her about my interest in an individual tour of Venice, I was very surprised when I saw the answer in the mail after 30 minutes. And this despite the fact that he himself sent her a letter at about 10 pm.

St. Peter's Basilica: history and how to visit

Until 1990, St. Peter's Basilica in Rome was the most grandiose building among Christian churches. However, its religious and cultural significance remains unchanged: there is no one in the world, and it is unlikely that there will ever be another cathedral that would symbolize the triumph of Christianity for nearly two millennia, without suppressing with its greatness.
