Plastic surgery in Italy is becoming more popular

Italy has become a leader in the number of plastic surgeries of various spectra, from suspenders to breast augmentation.

Despite the fact that nature gave Italians a very outstanding and pleasant appearance, many of them resort to the services of plastic surgeons. World celebrities of Italian origin are no exception. While most stars refuse to admit that they have ever been under the knives of plastic surgeons, there are those who do not hide their past in plastic surgery. Actress and TV presenter Alba Parietti was the first famous Italian woman to raise the issue of plastic surgery, and model Valeria Marini was one of the first to admit to the whole country that he resorted to the services of plastic surgeons.

In general, Italian plastic surgery is most aimed at eliminating the signs of aging - it is precisely these types of services that are most in demand in the country. Italians and Italians prefer Botox injections and numerous tightening of the area around the eyes, cheeks and chin.

According to recent studies, last year in Italy, 182,680 plastic surgeries were performed, which led the country to eighth instead of the world in the number of surgeries performed to change the appearance. These results were researchers from the Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (Isaps) www.isaps.org/ru/).

The organization’s report also indicated that Brazilians (1.49 million operations in 2013) and Americans (1.45 million operations in 2013) most often resort to plastic surgeons. As for the countries of Europe, Germany took the first place here (fourth place in the world ranking (343,479 operations)). The Spaniards also got on the list (seventh place in the world ranking (213,297 operations)).

The Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery has discovered that eye surgery was the most popular procedure among Italians. Italian surgeons performed this type of braces, which takes an average of about two hours in time, more than 27 thousand times last year. In second place were breast augmentation surgery. More than 26 thousand patients fell under the knife of eight hundred plastic surgeons. It is worth noting that this type of surgery is the most common in Italy.

Another well-known procedure - liposuction - removal of excess fat - was carried out in Italy 16,328 times last year. Hair transplantation, which gained popularity in Italy after the country's ex-prime minister Silvio Berlusconi admitted that he had also undergone it, in 2013, only 1224 patients and patients applied.

According to last year's similar report of the Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, in 2012, around 15 million plastic surgeries were performed in the world. Two years ago, Americans led the world ranking in the number of plastic surgery performed by breast surgeons, and the Chinese, Koreans and Japanese confidently took first place in the world in the number of operations to change the shape of the nose (rhinoplasty).
